Non toxic fabric protector: safer for your family and our planet

Traditional fabric protectors we have applied on our household surfaces and upholstery for the last few decades contain highly toxic synthetic chemicals, which are harmful to our health and the planet. These chemicals, known as polyflurorinated alkyl substances or PFAS, have been shown to have a causal link to changes in the liver, thyroid and pancreas, as well as hormonal changes, which can lead to potential cancer risk. PFAS are very persistent in the environment and in the human body – meaning they don’t break down and they can accumulate over time. There is evidence that exposure to PFAS can lead to adverse human health effects.

Here is a breakdown of ingredients found in traditional fabric protectors vs our eco friendly, non toxic, product:

PFAS also have huge implications on our environment in their production, aerosol application and when they start to breakdown.

Scary, isn’t it? We think so too, that’s why we’ve decided to develop an eco friendly, non-toxic fabric protector, as an alternative to mainstream products. We are on a mission to spread the message and help people live in a non-toxic home.

Natural fabric protector: what exactly is it made of

Our eco friendly fabric protector is PFAS free. It is made with pure silicon dioxide, an inert substance that surrounds us in nature as sand or quartz; the most abundant family of materials on Earth.

This natural substance is already in use in many products around us, like glass, concrete, cosmetics, food and even the water we drink. The recent advancements in nanotechnology have allowed to alter silicon dioxide into its nanoparticle form (meaning each particle size is as small as 1 billionth of a metre), creating such a thin, malleable layer that it could be used as an effective protection barrier on different surfaces.

Non-toxic fabric protectors like protectME have been shown to surpass mainstream protector sprays in every way:

Efficiency

& durability

Odour free

Safe for your family & the planet

protectME repels liquid & stains more effectively than traditional fabric protectors & lasts longer (up to 2-3 years). Contrarily to products containing toxic chemicals, protectME does not smell. No need to open the windows & leave the room! protectME is completely harmless to our bodies and the environment, being water based and non toxic.
